Here we are again with the holidays upon us. They seem to arrive faster every year, no matter which holiday you celebrate. They all promote eating and giving, which is as it should be.
If you get a chance, visit the Arboretum and the gigantic poinsettia tree. I heard they were doing it all in white this year.
Another note about the Arboretum is the Bee Center that is going to appear there and be finished in 2015. All donated by the Tashjian family to educate and protect the life of the bees that are being threatened by certain chemicals at this time. A large portion of our food production is dependent on bee pollination. This will be an outreach center to learn about and protect the lifestyle of the bees.
Christmas is the season for giving to others, eating traditional foods, and of course visiting Santa. Holly Berry, our mannequin made of fresh greens, will welcome you to see Santa, Saturday, December 7, 2014, at the Minneapolis location. He will be here from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
You will want your picture taken with him! Hallmark Cable TV will be handing out reindeer hats too!
