Herbs are easy to grow and they may make you feel better too! For instance, peppermint is good for an upset tummy or can soothe a sore throat. Lemon balm may dispel anxiety and relieve tension. It may also improve memory. Rosemary is also a memory enhancer or a topical ointment to ease joint pain. (Soak rosemary needles in almond oil for 2 weeks. Filter and rub on sore joints.) Sage can be a breath freshener as well as flavor your turkey dressing. (Steep 1 Tbl sage in 1 cup of hot water for 5 minutes. Strain and gargle.)
It is easy to dry herbs for your winter recipes. Pick, wash clean, and hang up to dry in a warm, dry area. It’s best to leave them in the dark. When completely dry, store in mason jars for later use. They can be frozen fresh too in ice cube trays for alter use.
