How does your edible garden grow? This is a great time to harvest and enjoy those tomatoes or peppers you planted last spring. Zucchini may be abundant in your garden now too. I peel and slice (1/2” thick), dip in egg and then Italian bread crumbs, fry in olive oil until brown on both sides, spoon your favorite tomato sauce or salsa on top and serve. I think you’ll like it. You may be wondering what to do with all those cucumbers. Refrigerator pickles are easy and keep for a long time and make a great host or hostess gift. Let me know if you want an easy recipe.
We are planning an August 15, 2013 reopening of Wagners in Minneapolis on Penn Avenue when street construction will be nearly completed. Watch for your email notice and the fun events we are planning for September and October. We have missed all of your smiling faces at our Minneapolis location and look forward to serving you again! Our store in Bloomington, 2100 W. Old Shakopee Rd, has been happy to serve you through this interim and they will be open through the Christmas holidays. Oh, it seems too early to think about the holidays, but they will be here soon!
